Access Global cache from ESQL

Functionality exists to access the global cache from Java within IIBv9, and from a graphical map within IIBv10. While it's possible to create Java functions and access them from within ESQL, this still requires a level of Java knowledge and is not the ideal case where the cache can be accessed directly from ESQL via appropriate verbs and functions.

For general FYI, as part of our regular practice of reviewing RFEs, this enhancement remains on our radar. We also continue to receive strong support for this feature request through our Early Experience Program. Given the age of this RFE it is worth noting that functional enhancement of this type would likely not be applied to either IIBv9 or IIBv10. Status currently kept at Uncommitted Candidate.

Would be really good to see an official IBM solution for accessing the global cache (GC) directly from ESQL where we do not have to implement our own static Java code to do so.

Thanks for raising this RFE. We agree this would make an excellent enhancement for the product. As you're aware we are gradually expanding the capabilities of the embedded global cache. In addition to JCN support we now allow access via the Graphical Mapper. .NET (for which we have an existing RFE) and ESQL access are very logical next areas of interest. Status of the RFE is update to uncommitted candidate.
