ACE non-XA connection to Oracle does not work with OID

ACE database connections do not support OID for non-XA connections (ODBC).

When our Oracle databases move locations, we have to coordinate updating the definitions in ACE (for non-XA database connections). The JDBC connections can use OID, so we do not have to update those definitions.

Please update ACE to support OID for non-XA DB connections.

Idea / RFE review. Thank you for taking the time to raise this enhancement request. ACE facilitates connection to Oracle either through JDBC or ODBC ... It is understood that you would like to take advantage of OID when connecting from ACE to Oracle, but was your intention to use this in conjunction with JDBC ... or ODBC ? Perhaps you could name the specific Oracle driver from which you would like us to exploit OID. Also, is your intention here just to abstract connection details or is this more about support for authentication of the connection through OID? Having these details would enable us to better understand the overall use case. Meanwhile, we support the idea in principle of better exploitation of OID so we are updating the status to Future Consideration.
