Support for using fileshares in ACE deployed on IBM Cloud Pak for Integration

We require the message flows which uses file input nodes to support use of file share such as Samba, CIFS, etc on ACE installed from a CP4I (IBM Cloud Pak for Integration 2019.x.x) environment - In order to have the ability to read from a file share which is mounted on the worker node through mechanisms such as the use of flex volume plugin to mount the file share to the PVC, the helm chart for ACE must support this by having a field to specify the volume name and fstype; while this may be one of solution to the problem, we expect IBM to deliver a robust alternative or function to handle the scenario out-of-the-box (CP4I system).

Thank you for raising this enhancement request. We agree that the use case for reading file inputs from mounted filesystems in CP4I would enhance the existing product offering. The technology which underpins the UI fields which are referenced in the description has previously been Helm, and as of the most recent CP4I release is now Operators. Both of these technologies would be suitable for taking directed information about the worker node environment such as the volume and file system type and passing it in as configuration into the running container. We will continue to monitor this enhancement request for signs of community support for the idea. Status is updated to Uncommitted Candidate.
